300

Well guys this is one movie which u must all watch. You all must be knowing it is about a war between the Spartans and the Persians.Inspite of being a controversial movie, what with all that anti iranian feeling it showcases(that is some critics' view but then again they are all ambassadors of peace who were sleeping when Saddam Hussein was being hanged). The war scenes in the movie are very well picturised and it is a movie based on fantasy....there is some hint of factual accuracy here as far as the context of the war is concerned but then thats as far as it goes....but one thing i didnt like in the movie was the physique of the sparta warriors hell everyone of them seemed like he had just been back from a modelling assignment straight into the war with their bulging bisceps and clear cut thighs and chest.....gave me an inferiority complex just looking at them...but it was short lived as they all got killed and i was of course living sipping on my cola and munching popcorn in the comfort of my seat.....but overall the movie is gr8 and ppl wont require too much of brains to watch it....

IIM-C - A Distant Dream

Yesterday i gave my IIM-C interview.i had been preparing for 2 and a half months for it.Imagine how you prepare 3 months just for those 30 minutes of GD/PI which will might just decide what turn your life takes.Mine very simply......crashed.Imagine,at the final hurdle it crashed!!Damn this life...This is how it bumped along.
I reached the centre 1 hr early just to get a feel of what was going on as mine was in the afternoon. Many other students' train of thought had also brought them early. Then i started getting friendly with the students there....asking them questions on what they were doing, how many calls, percentile and stuff....my FIRST mistake of that miserable day.Every damn person i talked to was either from IIT or was one with a percentile above 99.7.....made me think what the fuck was i doing there with a meagre 98.9....i felt what bermuda might have felt while playing against australia...that was my mistake number 2.
With a damn lot of difficultyfrom amongst the crowd i managed to find 2-3 ppl with somewat lower percentiles and even they bettered mine but still small is better than big in an iim interview at least. But even that joy was shortlived...my group was then called to the GD room for our case study to start....
Case Study
This was just gr8.they gave us a case on ethics....shit shit shit....where some xyz company had given their workers rotten food ,organised trade strikes so as to explain the delay in production....a great company thats what evryone must think. But not us,we were all god given gifts to the corporate world at that time evryone chipping in with things like what the company did was ethically wrong...on my part i was blabbering on about the corporate social responsibility and reorienting the management strategy...:):) after all i was also one of them...aspiring for that all eluding seat...
Then came the interview.....which was another big mess...
The Interview
One mite wonder why i have put 'The' in front of Interview....you all will come to know why.The person before me was in there for 25 mins. and he had not spoken a word during the whole GD but then again he was a 100 percentiler!!!well with a percentile like that what was the point of even calling him for interviews.....maybe they wanted to verify his identity as if someone would really try that shit in iims....but who knows,i had my interview to be concerned about....I was then called into the room. They asked for my form.....and shit i could see that my hands were shivering while giving it to them....and i have no idea why in the world that happened.....and at that very moment...and that interviewer was looking at them almost gleefully, must have been picturing me as his missed lunch or something.....poor me.....everything had to happen at that very moment..:(:(.As the interview went on i came to realise that my hands shivering was just the beginning....this was the first interview i hv given in which i knew the interviewers were not interested in taking me..and they showed it..they were not trying to discuss anything with me....just asking very vague questions abt how all iim aspirants have a bias towards social work....i wanted to say that if i say that i dnt like social work then u wouldnt take me,if i say that i like it then u wouldnt take me....and then u ask me such questions....try to evade the question as long as i could and then they also understood that i wasnt going to answer them watevr it takes so they left it at that and let me go....just messed it up big time(guess the day was not auspicious-budh ki graha as some mite call it if something like that exists)......it went on for only 12-13 minutes which is not how one wants it to go but wat cud i hv done.....dnt even know wat they wanted to see....and in the middle of thre interview i got the feeling that they had alredy decided who they wanted to take....and were just passing time with me....guess this is what happens wen ppl say that their life has crashed....jaise taise i stammered my way thru the interview......onto IIM A next monday........
